Research priorities, on the one hand, are clinically applied research, and on the other, clinic-related basic research specifically in the field of molecular medicine and genetics.

 

General information about the clinic

The clinic has 96 paediatric beds and 24 paediatric surgical beds to serve the region. In addition, there are also related surgical disciplines which provide care for children. The department is divided into three clinics.

The spectrum of disciplines at the University Clinic for Paediatrics I consists of paediatrics with a focus on general paediatrics, paediatric intensive care, paediatric haematology and oncology, paediatric neurology, congenital metabolic disorders, endocrinology and diabetology, rheumatology and infectiology, gastroenterology and hepatology. The University Clinic for Paediatrics II runs the neonatology department. The University Clinic for Paediatrics III specialises in paediatric cardiology, pulmonology and allergology. … are conducted in collaboration with the Coordination Centre/Centre of Competence for Clinical Trials/OE Clinical Trial Center (CCCT/OE CTC). Theoretical studies are conducted in collaboration with the Human Genetics Department / Institute of Biomedical Research.

… , provided by the Medical University, is available in the clinics. The Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine is one of the most popular institutions among students for student teaching purposes and is very highly rated.

Coordination Centre/Centre of Competence for Clinical Trials of the Medical University of Innsbruck

CCCCT Innsbruck is an active partner of OKIDS and the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of the Medical University of Innsbruck for conducting clinical trials in paediatrics.

The Coordination Centre/Centre of Competence for Clinical Trials (CCCT) is an organisational unit of the Medical University of Innsbruck whose objective is to support clinical research and to strengthen Innsbruck as a research location. CCCT Innsbruck offers the researchers and cooperation partners of the Medical University of Innsbruck a wide range of services for planning, organising, conducting and reporting in the context of clinical studies:

  • Fundamental consultation on the legal and regulatory requirements for clinical trials of medicinal products and medical devices as well in connection with biomedical research projects
  • Submission support, data management, monitoring, medical writing and project management for clinical trials according to the AMG (Medicinal Products Act) and the MPG (Medical Devices Act)
  • Free events within the CCCT training series (min. 6 times per year) as well as fee-based courses in the field of clinical trials (investigator course in cooperation with the Tyrolean Medical Association, study nurse course etc.)
